Game Concept: Elements of Infinity

     For Elements of Infinity, the setting is a far-future, hi-tech society on an unrecognizable planet. In the setting’s history, self-replicating nanites were dispatched to terraform the planet and make it habitable for humans prior to colony ship arrival. In line with sci-fi expectations, these nanites went out of control and ran rampant outside their initial directives. Therefore, when the one-way generational colony ship arrived, they found a habitable but very inhospitable planet. The game is set centuries later. Humans have established a tenuous civilization on the planet, made possible by a corp of “wranglers,” adventurers with cybernetic, neurological implants that allow them to subdue and harness the power of the nanites. This enables them to accomplish fantastic feats in order to protect and secure the settled areas of the planet, explore the frontier, and put-down threatening and dangerous anomalies created by nanites run amok.
     In course of the game, players will encounter an NPC named Ada. She’s a young, but very experienced, wrangler who operates out in the wilder frontier areas of the planet. She’s thrill-seeking and is always trying to find more dangerous challenges to face and thus pushing the bounds of her abilities. She offers some quests and can trade with and teach certain skills to the player. Her style is reminiscent of a gunslinger and she’s always seen with a large canister meant to contain nanites. She’s generally upbeat, cocky, and carries herself with a bit of a swagger.
